The Regiment of the Isles or MacDonald Fencibles, was a Fencible Regiment, commanded by Colonel Sir Alexander Wentworth MacDonald, 2nd Lord MacDonald. The Regiment, which wore Highland dress, was in existence from 29 May, 1798 to 16 July, 1802. The majority of the troops in the regiment were named MacDonald.

Set in the original gold locket frame, the reverse glazed to reveal plaited hair topped by an ivory disk on which is written Lieu/ D. Macdonald/Regt of the/ Isles.
