Edith Littledale Fletcher
by Charles Turrell, Edith Littledale (1848-1920), daughter of Thomas
Littledale and Julia Royds, was born at Highfield House, West Derby, Lancashire.
On 25 June, 1868, she married Alfred Fletcher (1841-1919) at St. Mary's
West Derby. The couple, who had eight children, lived at Allerton Manor,
Liverpool.
Charles James Turrell (1846-1932) who counted Queen Victoria, Queen Alexandra and Queen Maude of Norway among his sitters, exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Society of Miniaturists from 1873-1932. Equally as popular in America, Turrell often wintered in the States. There his patrons included the McCormick, Vanderbilt and Morgan families.
