by William Prewett, in enamel, circa 1745.

Set in the original silver pendant frame with scroll surmount, repoussé work on the reverse.
2 7/16 inches (4.6 cm) high.

William Prewett (fl.1735-1750) a student of Zincke, was considered by Foskett to have been "one of the best enamelists of the British School." His miniatures are scarce. Examples of Prewett's work may be seen in the Victoria & Albert Museum, and the National Gallery, Dublin.
