signed and dated 1819.

Set in a gilt metal pendant frame.
2 1/4 inches (5.8 cm) high.

Andre Leon Larue (1785-after 1834) called Mansion, is called by Schidlof "amongst the best French miniaturists of the 19th century." A student of Isabey, Mansion exhibited at the Salon de Paris and, during his many trips to London, the Royal Academy. Mansion's sitters included Count Eszterhazy, Disraeli, and Empress Marie Louise.
