Frédéric Millet (d.1859), was called by Schidlof "a miniaturist of great quality."  He exhibited at the Salon de Paris from 1806-1859.  A student of Isabey, Millet counted the Empress Josephine, King Louis -Philippe, the Duchess of Orleans and Emperor Napoleon III among his sitters.   Millett's self-portrait and his portrait of his wife are in the collection of the Louvre.
