Portrait miniature of a lady Set in the original gold mount with added gilt metal back. 2 13/16 inches (7.1 cm) in diameter. Jean Baptiste Joseph Le Tellier (1759 - after 1812) worked in Paris as both a miniaturist and enamelist, exhibiting at the Salon de Paris. He served as "Peintre des Menus-Plaisirs" to Marie Antoinette. Examples of Le Tellier's work may be seen in the Louvre and the National Museum of Stockholm. |
