Johann Walch (1757-1816) who worked as a miniaturist, painter, and engraver
in Augsburg, studied at the Academy of Vienna, in Rome and Geneva. Walch's
miniature portrait of Archduke Charles of Austria is in the Gallery of Dresden,
his portrait of the Vicar of Augsburg is in the Maximilian Museum, Augsburg.
Walch's works in miniature are rare.
